Science/Technology Faculty - Robotics and Manufacturing Technology (FA)

Location: Canandaigua, NY

Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) is searching for full-time Faculty of Robotics and Manufacturing Technology. We are looking to grow our team of student-centered educators who are committed to innovation and excellence. The Faculty of Robotics and Manufacturing Technology (RMET) will support the launch and growth of a newly established A.A.S. degree focused on robotics, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys applied teaching, program development, and close collaboration with industry and colleagues.

The RMET program prepares students for high-demand technical careers in manufacturing and automation. The program will initially be delivered fully online, with potential for hyflex or in-person components as the program evolves.

The successful candidate will play a key role in curriculum development, instruction, student mentoring, and building strong connections with regional employers.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching

  1. Develop courses related to RMET in a variety of formats, including in-person, online asynchronous, and hyflex modalities.

  2. Teach courses in robotics, manufacturing technology, and related areas such as engineering, physics, or smart systems technology, commensurate with educational background and experience.

  3. Participate in curriculum development and assessment activities.

  4. Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Advising, Service & Professional Development

  1. Advise and mentor students, supporting their academic and career goals.

  2. Serve on college committees and participate in faculty development opportunities.

  3. Stay current in emerging technology trends, integrating them into courses.

  4. Engage in opportunities for growth in all facets, including teaching and learning.

Outreach

  1. Develop relationships with local businesses.

  2. Develop relationships with local high schools.

  3. Develop and participate in student outreach and recruiting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master’s in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field from an accredited institution.

  2. Relevant professional experience in Robotics and Manufacturing.

  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  4. Willingness to teach at any of FLCC's campus locations (Canandaigua, Geneva, Newark, and Victor), and in multiple instructional modalities as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous teaching experience; teaching experience at the college level preferred.

  2. Teaching experience in Robotics and Manufacturing.

  3. Industry experience in Robotics and Manufacturing.

Benefits and Salary Range

Applicants receiving benefits through the New York State Retirement System should review state regulations regarding post-retirement employment. This position is not eligible for employment under a Section 211 waiver.

  1. Salary will depend on rank according to education and experience – Starting salary: Instructor: $59,780; Assistant Professor: $66,633.
