Provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment in which children can grow physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to all New York State Office of Children and Family Services regulations
Follow all Center policies and procedures
Prepare and maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment
Plan and implement daily program that meets emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs of children
Collaborate with Teacher Assistant on classroom program and goals
Communicate with Teacher Assistant on children's development
Attend staff meetings, fulfill all t raining requirements, and maintain all mandatory clearances
Maintain classroom supplies and report any inadequacies with building or grounds to Director
Assist children with personal and self-care needs
Develop a supportive relationship with children focusing on safety, cleanliness, and happiness in a learning-through-play environment
Interact with children and encourage involvement in activities
Maintain all classroom records, files, and paperwork
Assist Director in arranging field t rips and activities
Respect and maintain confidentiality of children, parents, and staff
Foster communication with parents regarding children's progress and activities via daily reports, newsletters, and conferences
Use appropriate and positive techniques to manage behavior
Follow guidelines set by Child and Adult Care Food Program
Assist Director with supervising and evaluating student interns
Consult with Director when an incident occurs at Center
Perform other duties as assigned

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
The Lead Teacher is part of the Child Care Center of Finger Lakes Community College Association and reports to the Child Care Center Director
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Associate's Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or related field; or
Child Development Associate credential or other OCFS-recognized credential specific to preschool developmental period and one year of experience related to caring for children; or
Nine college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, or related field, with plan of study leading to (1) Child Development Associate credential or (2) Associate's Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or related field and two years of experience related to caring for children
COMPENSATION:
Starting hourly rate of $16-$18, based on experience and qualifications.
Full-time hourly, 52 weeks per year, 40 hours per week (non-semester weeks may be scheduled at less than 39 hours per week)
