The Data Analyst, PT conducts research and analysis for internal reporting; compiles institutional data (e.g. enrollment, retention, student success, financial, engagement data) and provides the campus community with user-friendly data for a variety of college stakeholders; provides in-depth analytical and statistical summaries in support of policy development, decision making, institutional accreditation, compliance and the College’s efforts to secure grants; prepares and maintains project documentation. As with all positions in this Division, must be able to manage highly confidential data with personally identifiable information following, federal, state and institutional policy, while maintaining highest degree of professional practice.

This is a part-time, grant-funded position. New York State residency required.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required in analytic discipline or area focusing on quantitative and data visualization skills.
- Experience: At least two (2) years of professional experience in data analytics required. Experience working in a Higher Education setting preferred.
- Special Skills: Ability to handle sensitive data and confidential information. Proficient in business intelligence and data visualization tools and methodologies including proficiency in advanced concepts in Microsoft Excel. Preferred experience with Power BI and willingness to learn Tableau. Knowledge and experience with database queries. Experience with cleaning and manipulating data to prepare for analysis in software/languages such as SQL. Strong problem- solving attention to detail and analytical skills; experience with statistical analysis and research. Ability to understand and articulate complex ideas to provide actionable insight. Excellent written and oral communication skills; analytic, consultative, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet project deadlines in a fast-pasted environment. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on team-based projects. Knowledge of, respect for, and successful engagement with members of other cultures or backgrounds.
Specific Functions:
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and present institutional data (e.g. enrollment, retention, student success, financial, engagement data)
- Assist in creation and maintenance of data dashboards and data sets using institutional data such as those described above.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative data compilation and analysis of institutional data to support the continuous improvement of academic and administrative departments.
- Respond to routine and ad hoc requests for data and information on institutional metrics such as enrollment trends, impact of educational innovation, return on investment etc.
- Support divisional enrollment forecasting efforts utilizing predictive analyses to inform strategies.
- Assist with ensuring common data definitions, best practices, and shared reporting principles are observed across the institution by adopting a collaborative, educational approach to working with colleagues in other divisions.
- Represent APCI at select meetings.
- Support other projects, duties, and studies undertaken by the Office of Assessment, Planning and Continuous Improvement as assigned.
