Coordinator of Emergency Medical Services Program (PT)

The Coordinator of Emergency Medical Services Program (part-time) administers all programs emanating from and relating to Emergency Medical Services including planning and creation of courses, recruiting enrollment, coordinating finances, training, and hiring of qualified faculty, administering testing and evaluating the progress, compliance, and effectiveness of such programs in conjunction with the Paramedic Program Director and the Finger Lakes Regional EMS Council, Inc.

Qualifications:

  1. Educational Background: Associate’s Degree required; NYS Certified EMT-Paramedic required. NYS Certified Instructor Coordinator required. AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS Instructor preferred. ITLS/PHTLS Instructor preferred.

  2. Experience: Experience in administering a comprehensive program in delivering an educational program for EMS providers. Minimum five years’ active EMS experience. At least three years’ experience in EMS teaching at various levels. Excellent supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Specific Responsibilities:

Assists in developing and maintaining short- and long-range plans for formal EMS and health-related training programs throughout the region. Maintains communications between and among all EMS providers in the Counties, the Counties’ EMS coordinators, and Emergency Management Coordinators, as appropriate, the Council, other regional and State EMS Councils, and the NYS DOH.

???????Promotes and conducts training courses throughout the region, as appropriate.

???????Provides support to the Finger Lakes Regional EMS Council’s Training Committee to assure regional integration and coordination of training efforts.

???????Verifies that all instructors have current CIC/CLI certifications. Reviews and submits DOH required documentation.

???????Performs as the fiduciary agent for the Finger Lakes training account and funds in general on behalf of the FLCC. Coordinates/works with FLREMSC auditing firm annually, assisting in the preparation of annual audits as required by NYSDOH BEMS and NYS Department of Audit and Control

Attends and provides staff support (minutes, mailing, etc.), to the above-listed regional EMS Council and Committees. Creates accessible and welcoming learning environments that are supportive and inclusive of all students, considering the diverse and intersecting identities and backgrounds that many of those students may hold or claim. Including but not limited to nontraditional and first-generation students, students with disabilities, students of color, students from underrepresented groups, international students, LGBTQ+ students, religion, socioeconomic status, and gender.

???????Occasional night or weekend work may be required for this role. Liaison to the Finger Lakes Regional EMS Council and its committees.

???????Assists with planning Plans, promotes, and develops activities in the areas, including but not limited to BLS expansion/refinement of programs.

???????Assists with planning non-credit EMS courses/classes offered through FLREMSC. Such courses would be for continuing education requirements for EMS providers’ recertification.

???????Attend NYSDOHBEMS State Council Meetings to stay updated on changes to the EMS field.

???????Other related duties as assigned.

Benefits and Salary Range:

  1. Starting hourly rate is $28.00 - $32.75 and is commensurate with qualifications
