Admission Student Ambassador (Federal Work-Study)

The Admission Student Ambassador is responsible for providing campus tours to prospective student and visitors, assisting with operations, and representing the college at various events.

This is a Federal Work-Study position.

Essential Functions:

  1. Guides prospective students and visitors through tours of the College campus.
  2. Assists in daily operations of the Admissions office including, but not limited to, stuffing of mailers to admitted and prospective students.
  3. Assists Admissions office staff with event preparation.
  4. Represents the College and Admissions office at events.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Current Finger Lakes Community College student enrolled in six (6), or more, credit hours.
  2. Eligible for a Federal Work-Study award.
  3. Effective communication and public speaking skills in front of groups of up to 35 people.
  4. Ability to exhibit professionalism through reliable attendance, professional appearance, and adhering to the FLCC Student Code of Conduct.
  5. Maintains confidentiality.
  6. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  7. Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

Additional Information:

  1. Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour, in accordance with New York State minimum wage.
  2. Students may work up to 20 hours per week with weekend hours as needed.
